MAHMUT BURAK ERSOY

Mahmut Burak Ersoy was born in Antalya, Türkiye on 25 December 1979.

He studied Political Science and Public Administration at Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He obtained European Studies Master’s Degree from Middle East Technical University in 2006. He worked as Research Assistant at EU 7^th Framework projects in the same university.

He joined Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2004 and served as Attache and Third Secretary at the Bilateral Economic Affairs and Asia-Pacific & Africa Departments.

He was posted as Third Secretary and Second Secretary consecutively at the Turkish Embassies in Dhaka and Lisbon between 2007 and 2012.

He then returned to Ankara and worked as Acting Head of Department at the Deputy Directorate General for NATO and Euro-Atlantic Security and Defence Affairs.

He served as Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Türkiye at NATO between 2014 and 2018. He was then posted to Turkish Embassy in Nairobi between 2018 and 2020.

Lastly, he served as Head of Department at the Cabinet of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Ersoy assumed his duties as the Turkish Consul General in Amsterdam on 15 December 2022.

He is married with one child.
