Press Release Regarding the Visit of Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Thessaloniki on 12 December 2014, on the Occasion of the 31st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC)

Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will pay a visit to Greece to attend the 31st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) that will be held in Thessaloniki on 12 December 2014. Turkey is one of the founding members of BSEC and hosts its Secretariat in Istanbul.

The aim of using the economic potential of the Black Sea basin for the prosperity and welfare of our peoples, which lies at the basis of the establishment of BSEC continues to unite all of the countries in the region.

During the 31st Meeting of the Council of Ministers, the work of BSEC covering many fields such as trade, transportation, energy, communication, science-technology, tourism and education will be evaluated. Furthermore, the Ministers will exchange views on the steps that have been taken to render the organization more project-oriented, more effective and more visible.

Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers of BSEC on the occasion of the meeting.

Foreign Minister H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will also visit Komotini following the BSEC meeting.
