STATEMENT OF H.E. ÖMER ÇELIK, MINISTER OF EUROPEAN UNION AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY ON THE TURKEY-EU READMISSION AGREEMENT AND VISA LIBERALIZATION PROCESS

Lahey Büyükelçiliği 02.09.2016

When it comes to fight and struggle for common values
Turkey is “invited to sit on the seat in the first row” but then just right after “when there is a necessity to share these values with our common institutions” we are told that “they are sorry and we do not have any reservations”. This scenario is unacceptable and unsustainable. In fact within this context, unless there is visa liberalization, that is if there is no sharing for these common values, we cannot put the “Readmission Agreement” in to application.
