Statement of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tanju Bilgiç, in Response to a Question Regarding the “Framework Decision on Disengagement of Forces and Hardware” in Eastern Ukraine

We support all efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine based on its territorial integrity and international law.

In this regard, we welcome signing of the “Framework Decision on Disengagement of Forces and Hardware” by the parties, within the Trilateral Contact Group as a result of the agreement reached at the Security Working Group, coordinated by Ambassador (R) Ertuğrul Apakan, Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

We regard the said decision as an important contribution to the efforts for a lasting peace and hope that the parties will maintain their will in this direction and take necessary steps to implement this agreement.
