We are closely following the developments regarding the Regional Government of Catalonia’s referendum initiative on October 1st, 2017. We regard the respect for territorial integrity of Spain as fundamental. It is important to comply with the laws of Spain and avoid resorting to violence in this process.
We believe that Spain, with whom Turkey has long-standing bonds of friendship and alliance, will overcome such challenges and establish a national dialogue environment through a democratic approach.
